At gofirego go I have combined a passion for outdoor adventure with my experience in crafting.  I simply enjoy the excitement of exploring new places and sharing my outdoor experiences with others.  Through my craft work I bring some of that wild country home.  My Backcountry Firestarters are a “must have” on gear lists and in survival kits, and are a “wood burner’s” best friend next to the woodstove or fireplace.

 

I specialize in creating reliable firestarters for guides, backpackers, paddlers, and family campers.  Use of my fire starters quickly migrated indoors and they are very popular with wood burners.  They are ideal for safe, easy, fire starting in woodstoves and fireplaces.  Until now, these fire starters were only available via word-of-mouth and occasional postings on eBay.  Gradually their reputation spread across the country.  Tired of giving away samples begged by others along the trail, folks encouraged me to make them more available.  Hence gofirego.com was created for that purpose. 

 

Go Fire Go ~ What’s in the name?

 

Anyone who has spent time on their hands and knees coxing a tiny spark or glowing ember to life as a flame gets it.  Anyone who has tried to start a fire while wet and shivering or with numb fingers — really gets it!  Save the huffing and puffing for the steep climb or the Class V stretch of water, not your camp fire.

Location:  We are located in the Schuylkill River town of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania just upstream of Valley Forge National Park.
